What is the Rob Project?
- The Studio Project
The Beginning:
Originally it started out as a recording project. I started selling a 3 song demo CD called “The Studio Project”. The object was to raise enough money to produce a full length studio album. Then once the album was done I would release the recording and give a free copy to all those who supported the project along the way. This was the plan anyway….
The Reality:
But, as I quickly found out, people aren’t so willing to put their money where their mouth is. Or perhaps more accurately, I thought I was more popular than I really am. Either way, I had a few people (who I love dearly and am eternally grateful – you know who you are.) who purchased the demo and wanted to support the cause with reckless abandon. And then there was everybody else, who… well… didn’t. So, in the end, my reality fell way short of the actual goal and the recording project release date was pushed back to an undefined time in the future.
The Progress:
I’m still working on that recording. I’m writing songs and punching out lyrics. Those of you who have purchased the demo CDs, you will get your Full CD someday – I promise. But it is taking longer than I had originally hoped. Hopefully in the end, that will make it all the more valuable.
The Truth:
I have discovered that the “Rob-Project” has turned out to be more about me and continuously building and tweaking who I am rather than the CD project itself. It’s more about developing my character as a person than it is about what I can produce with my hands. The Rob Project is all about laying aside those many “weights” and running the race more efficiently and effectively.
